Rain, moisture, dust, pollen and general outdoor dirt can quickly collect on the seat and cushions when the chair is not in use. A made to measure hanging chair cover provides a practical way to protect the covered part of the chair without having to move it indoors after every use.

This product is designed primarily for freestanding hanging chairs and hanging egg chairs whose covered section can be described using the dimensions available in the Shade4You configurator. The finished cover is made from rectangular fabric panels, while the flexible material naturally follows the general shape of the chair underneath.

Because Decor is a flexible fabric, the cover should not be expected to form a rigid rectangular box around a rounded hanging chair. The upper section naturally rests on the highest points of the chair and follows its shape. This is normal and does not require additional stiffening.

Where can the hanging chair cover be used?

The cover is intended for outdoor seating used in domestic and similar exterior spaces, including:

• freestanding hanging egg chairs,
• hanging garden chairs with their own stand,
• patio and terrace hanging chairs,
• balcony hanging chairs,

Before ordering, check that the chair can be represented by the measurement system used in the configurator. The cover is manufactured according to the dimensions supplied by the customer and is not individually shaped around every curve of the chair.

Decor 200 g/m² waterproof fabric

The cover is manufactured from Decor 200 g/m², a waterproof fabric intended for outdoor applications. It creates a protective barrier between the covered chair and rain or everyday exterior dirt.

The material is flexible rather than rigid. Once fitted, it naturally follows the outline of the chair, creating folds where the actual chair is narrower than the maximum dimensions used to manufacture the cover.

For outdoor use, it is important to prevent rainwater from collecting in depressions in the fabric. If the shape of the chair creates a horizontal or concave area at the top, position the cover so that water can drain away rather than forming a permanent pool.

Front zip for easier fitting

A central front zip makes a tall hanging chair cover considerably easier to handle. Opening the zip creates a wide front access point, allowing the cover to be placed around the chair without forcing the fabric over the widest part of the seat.

After the cover has been positioned correctly, close the zip and adjust the bottom drawcord. When removing the cover, release the lower fastening first and then open the zip.

Adjustable drawcord at the bottom

The lower edge of the cover is finished with an adjustable drawcord. Once the cover is fitted, the cord can be tightened to reduce excess looseness around the bottom of the protected section.

The cover is intended to finish above the freestanding base, leaving the chair stand and floor ring visible. This keeps the cover focused on the seating section and avoids unnecessarily enclosing the complete base structure.

How to measure your hanging chair

Correct measurements are essential because every cover is manufactured individually. Measure the chair in the position in which it will normally be stored under the cover. Cushions that are to remain on the chair should be in place before measuring.

Use the A × B × C measurement system shown in the product graphic and configurator. Always measure the maximum overall dimensions required for the covered section rather than measuring only the seat itself.

Do not measure the fabric tightly against every curve of the chair. The cover needs sufficient clearance to be fitted and removed without excessive tension. As a practical fitting allowance, add approximately 1.5 cm to each required dimension before entering the measurements.

Before submitting your measurements

• Measure the chair while it is standing normally on its base.
• Include cushions if they will remain under the cover.
• Measure the maximum overall dimensions of the section to be covered.
• Do not include the freestanding floor base in the covered height if it is to remain exposed.
• Add approximately 1.5 cm fitting allowance to each required dimension.
• Check all measurements again before placing the order.
