Waterproof balcony shade made to measure is designed for balconies, apartment terraces and compact outdoor spaces where standard-size covers do not fit correctly. This balcony shade sail is made individually to the dimensions provided by the customer. The Decor 200 g/m² waterproof fabric, reinforced edges and solid snap hooks allow stable installation when the sail is correctly tensioned and mounted with a suitable slope.

This made-to-measure balcony shade is suitable for balconies, loggias, apartment terraces, small patios and garden seating areas. It is a practical solution where you need a custom-size shade sail for a limited outdoor space or non-standard mounting layout.

The product is intended for seasonal outdoor use. In strong wind, storms, heavy rain or winter conditions, the sail should be removed to reduce stress on the fabric, seams and fixing points.

Decor Waterproof Fabric 200 g/m²

The sail is made from waterproof Decor fabric with a weight of 200 g/m². The material is designed for outdoor shading and protection against light rain. Because the fabric is waterproof, correct installation is essential: the sail must be tightly tensioned and installed with a visible slope so that water can run off the surface.

If water remains on the sail, it may create excessive load on the fabric and mounting points. For this reason, the correct angle, tension and installation clearance should be planned before ordering.

How to Order a Made-to-Measure Balcony Shade

1. Choose the fabric colour.
2. Select the length of the first side.
3. Select the length of the second side.
4. Choose the side finish: curved sides are standard; straight sides are available as an option.
5. If straight sides are longer than 3 m, add extra fixing points where required.
6. Attach a drawing, specification or photo if it helps explain the installation area.
7. Select an optional mounting kit: wood, masonry, metal or mixed.
8. Add the required quantity to the basket.

The offer applies to square and rectangular balcony shade sails. For sails fixed in the corners, we recommend an installation clearance of approximately 25 cm. For example, for a 3 x 3 m sail, the distance between mounting points should be approximately 3.25 x 3.25 m.

Installation and Use

Correct installation has a direct impact on the performance and durability of a waterproof balcony shade sail. The fabric should be firmly tensioned, mounted at an angle and fixed to stable points suitable for the surface: wood, concrete, masonry or metal.

For straight-sided sails longer than 3 m, we recommend adding an additional fixing point halfway along the side. This helps improve edge tension and reduces movement of the fabric during use.

When ordering a sail with straight sides, the edges may be more difficult to tension evenly. For sails longer than 3 m, we recommend an additional attachment point halfway along the side. Depending on the number of straight sides, more than one additional mounting point may be required.

Sewn-On Loop for Lifting the Centre

A sewn-on loop allows the centre of the sail to be raised by running a line diagonally through the loop and using the corner mounting points. This can help improve water run-off in more difficult installation conditions.

Drain Holes

Drain holes can help reduce the risk of water collecting on the sail. If required, you may attach a simple drawing with suggested drain hole positions when placing the order.

Care and Maintenance

The balcony shade sail can be cleaned with water and a mild, standard detergent. Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasive tools. The product may be washed according to our care instructions, without spin. Before washing, it is recommended to remove the metal snap hooks.

Before storage, the fabric should be completely dry. During strong wind, storms, heavy rainfall or winter months, the sail should be taken down and stored in a dry place.
